HKCT is a charitable and not-for-profit, self-financing education institution. Established since 1957, we have been a pioneer in vocational and professional education and training (VPET); we are amongst the twenty Higher Education Institutions in Hong Kong which are approved degree-awarding institutions. With a vast array of student-centric teaching and learning curriculums and activities, we have always strived to push for advancement in the society by paving pathways for students who are keen learners and to provide well-trained and qualified graduates to industries that long for talents.

Self-financing institution
As a local self-financing institution, HKCT has been a catalyst for VPET. We are self-reliant financially yet flexible and innovative in programmes provision and development. Our operating expenses are supported purely by tuition fees without any recurring governmental or major corporate funding. Generous support and donation from public and community are crucial to our continuous development of VPET programmes for which special and industry specific resources are particularly needed.

Matching your donation – dollar for dollar
To help the local self-financing higher education institutions solicit financial support, the Government will launch the seventh round of Matching Grant Scheme in which HKCT Institute of Higher Education (CTIHE) is one of the eligible institutions. For two years starting from 1st August 2017 to 31st July 2019, a dollar-for-dollar matching fund can be granted to the Institute for every dollar of donation raised. Your generous support and donation in this period will be particularly meaningful to the Institution.

"HKCT Fund – VPET Development"

HKCT always emphasized students' academic knowledge and professional related know-how with hands-on operational capability. Through a wide range of local and overseas internships, service learnings, exchange programmes, and development activities, students are given opportunities to widen horizon, nurture positive attitudes and values, and enhance employability.

With your generous support, our students will be able to further explore internship and exchange openings otherwise unattainable; your donation will go an extra mile to unleash their talents and spark their creativity. Your support will also help to continuously enhance the offerings of VPET programmes, services and facilities. Please gift to HKCT now (click here to download the donation form*).

Support the development of VEPT programmes, services and facilities to cater for the talent pool needed for Hong Kong in the new economic and fast changing technological markets.

To enhance the offerings of VPET courses and facilities: HKCT has always attached importance to VPET education and training, and we keep current our development with the trend of the industries so as to equip our students with the latest knowledge and skills required on the job.

To provide quality VPET internship opportunities: apart from obtaining academic qualification and professional/vocational recognition, providing student with relevant and sufficient first-person experiential learning opportunities such as internship are critical so they can adapt and contribute to the real workplace more readily.

To increase overseas VPET experience: students who are in need while lacking opportunities could be subsidized or financed to experience VPET through visits, exchanges and internships in places outside Hong Kong. This is particularly meaningful for students to widen their horizons which will invariably enhance their creativity and employability.
